Retired foreman served during World War II
Joseph “Joe” J. Perrotta Sr. of Hubbard, died Sunday evening, Aug. 31, 2008, in Clare Bridge of Austintown, Ohio, as a result of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 80.
Mr. Perrotta was born June 5, 1928, in Hubbard, a son of James and Margaret Cambert Perrotta.
He was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mr. Perrotta was a general foreman for Local 744 of the Boilermaker Union of Cleveland for 42 years, retiring in 1990.
He served as a sergeant with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Joe enjoyed golfing, physical fitness and gardening.
His wife, the former Jean Kowalsky, whom he married on Aug. 1, 1950, died on Jan. 31, 1997.
He leaves: two sons, James Perrotta and Joseph Perrotta Jr., both Hubbard; two daughters, JoLynn Hitt, Hubbard; and Jeannie Williams, West Middlesex; a sister, Margaret Montecalvo, Hubbard; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Viola Hanak, Lucy Perrotta and Helen Campoli; and two brothers, Al and Angelo Perrotta.

Service: Funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Thursday (9-4-08) in the funeral home with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Hubbard.
Interment: Hubbard Union Cemetery.
