Anna L. Kisegy Havrilla, 3333 West Middlesex-Hubbard Road, West Middlesex, formerly of Farrell, died of natural causes after a brief illness at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, in John XXIII Home, Hermitage, where she resided for the past week. She was 95.
Mrs. Havrilla was born Feb. 10, 1913, in Hazin, Austria-Hungary, now Slovakia, to John and Anna Mikula Kisegy.
Anna was a graduate of Farrell High School, class of 1932.
She was the oldest surviving member of the former St. Ann’s Parish in Farrell. In her younger days, she was a member of the former St. Ann’s Church choir, serving as one of its soloists.
A homemaker, Anna was a member of what is now Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann’s Church in Farrell.
Her husband, Francis “Frank” Havrilla, whom she married May 13, 1939, died June 27, 2006.
Surviving are: a daughter, Kathleen A. DeVenney, at home, who was her parents’ caregiver for the past 10 years; two sons, Robert F. Havrilla and his wife Patricia, Newark, N.Y.; and John W. Havrilla and his wife Judy, Hermitage; four grandchildren, Robert F. Havrilla Jr. and his wife Theresa; Richard P. DeVenney; Carrie K. Shipton and her husband Todd A.; and John Michael Havrilla; four great-grandchildren, Brittany L. and Jace-Adam P. Havrilla; Julia L. and Zachary A. Shipton; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Kristen and Michael Shipton.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Diana Lynn Havrilla; a sister, Mary Musial; two brothers, John and Norbert Kisegy; and a nephew, Ronald Musial.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
