Damascus retiree liked to fish, hunt with friends
Jesse J. “Jay” Winner of 72 Orangeville Road, West Salem Township, passed away at 5:11 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, in Woodland Place, Coolspring Township. He was 72.
Mr. Winner was born on Dec. 19, 1935, in Charleston, a son of the late William and Helen Troutman Winner.
He attended the former West Salem School and Penn High School, Greenville.
Jesse worked on the family dairy farm in West Salem Township and at Damascus Tube Co. in Greenville.
He enjoyed fishing, gambling with his wife and hunting in DuBois, Pa., with his good friends.
His wife, the former Luella “Lou” F. Robinson, whom he married on June 22, 1957, survives.
Jesse is also survived by: a daughter, Judy Heathcote, Alliance, Ohio; a son, Denny Winner Sr.; a brother, William Winner Jr. and his wife Laura, Manheim, Pa.; six grandchildren, Megan Heathcote and Heather Winner, both Greenville; Michelle Winner; and Nicole and her husband Mike White, all Sharon; Rhenda Zitterkoph, Jamestown; and Denny Winner Jr., Greenville; and a great-granddaughter, Gabby Winner, Sharon.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by a daughter, Nikki Jay Winner; and a brother, Dave Winner.
