Timothy A. Murray of 619 Mert Way, Sharon, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Thursday (10-29-09) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 50.

Timothy A. Murray of 619 Mert Way, Sharon, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Thursday (10-29-09) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 50.
Mr. Murray was born Sept. 11, 1959, in Sharon, a son of James Wallace and Lois Jean Hoelzle Murray.
A lifetime area resident, he was a 1977 graduate of Sharon High School.
Tim was employed by Wheatland Tube Co. for 23 years, having last worked as an end welder. He was a member of Local 1660 of the United Steelworkers union.
Tim loved to work and was very meticulous. Whether he was tinkering in his garage or maintaining his property, he took great pride in everything he did.
He enjoyed sporting events and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins; the Penn State Nittany Lions football team; and the Pitt and Duke basketball teams.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed archery, ggoing to the mountains in Allegheny National Forest, attending fairs and going to dirt track races at Sharon Speedway. He also enjoyed attending local truck and bike nights.
Tim was a patient man, particularly when deer hunting, and will be remembered by his family for his loving, caring and generous ways.
Surviving are: his wife, at home, the former Johanna F. Milich, whom he married July 7, 1979; three sons, Timothy A. Murray Jr.; Jonathan M. Murray; and Sean “Fred” M. Murray and his fiancée Laura Frazier; and his mother, Lois Jean Murray, all Sharon; two sisters, Sandra J. Karmelita and her husband Walter, Sharon; and Renee A. Tate and her husband Robert, Hobart, Ind.; two brothers, Thomas E. Murray, Masury; and David J. Murray and his wife Jeri, Sharon; his father-in-law, William Milich, Hermitage; and several nieces and nephews.
Tim was preceded in death by his father and his dog, Zeke.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sharon Regional Health System Cancer Care Center, 2320 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.
