Edythe Gracenin, 1707 Brookfield Road, Hubbard, formerly of McClure Avenue, Sharon, and Whispering Oaks, Hermitage, passed away of natural causes at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, in her residence. She was 92.
Mrs. Gracenin was born Tuesday, Dec. 19, 1916, in Farrell to Joe “Gavra” and Anna O’Bradovich Koncar.
She was an alumna of Farrell High School, class of 1934, and worked for 11 years as a clerk at the former Sharon Store which was later Strouss’s Department Store in downtown Sharon.
Edythe was a member of Victory Christian Center in New Wilmington and formerly belonged to St. George’s Serbian Orthodox Church, Hermitage.
She was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed sewing, reading and working crossword puzzles.
Her husband, Sylvester “Butch” Gracenin, whom she married May 18, 1940, passed away July 17, 2002.
Surviving are: two daughters, Janice and her husband Bob J. Maynard, Hubbard; and Elaine and her husband Joe Timulak, Grove City; four grandchildren, Joel Timulak and his wife Heather; Rebecca and her husband Jeff Breitenstein; Michael Maynard and his wife Luann; and Melanie and her husband Travis Phelan; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Spain; Christin, Erin, Nathan and Zoey Breitenstein; and Henry Timulak; and several special nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Edythe was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Chalpka; and three brothers, Thomas, Steve and Stanley Koncar.

Calling hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday (11-5-09) in STEPHEN J. SHERMAN FUNERAL HOME, 2201 Highland Road, Hermitage.
Service: Funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday (11-6-09) in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Cypher, pastor of Victory Christian Center, New Wilmington, officiating.
Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
