Clara G. Jackson of 483 Meek St., Sharon, passed away at 6:26 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at Sharon Regional Hospital. She was 83.

Mrs. Jackson was born on Sept. 9, 1926, in Sharon, a daughter of Morris Henry and Alice Margaret Brooks Martin.

She was a 1945 graduate of Sharon High School.

Clara retired from John XXIII Nursing Home, Hermitage, where she was employed from 1971 to 1999 as a licensed practical nurse. In her early years, she was employed at G.C. Murphy’s.

Her husband, James R. Jackson, whom she married March 13, 1948, passed away Aug. 17, 1978.

She is survived by two daughters, Gloria J. and her husband Jeffrey Marino; and Susan A. and her husband Tom King, all of Sharon; a son, James R. Jackson Jr., Sharon; five grandchildren, Michelle Lucas, Tina Durf, James Marino, Justin Marino, and James Jackson; and six great-grandchildren, Samantha Fennell, Josh Spohn, Page Spohn, Vanessa Durf, Antwan Josenberger and James Jackson.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary M. Williams; a sister, Leona Andrews; a brother, Kenneth Martin; and a grandson, John Williams.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Phillip L. Cooper, pastor of Shenango Valley Baptist Church, Hermitage, officiating.

Interment: Brookfield Township Cemetery.
