---- — Dorothy A. Syrjanen of 957 Highland Road, Sharon, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Monday (5-3-10) in her residence after an extended illness. She was 64.

Mrs. Syrjanen was born June 3, 1946, in Sharon, the daughter of John and Laura Magee Ball.

She was a 1964 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.  Dorothy was employed at the former Sharon Chrysler dealership on East State Street in Sharon, where she had been a sales associate for more than 25 years.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Unit 299, Sharon. Dorothy enjoyed golfing.

Her husband, Richard “Dick” R. Syrjanen, whom she married Jan. 31, 1981, survives at home.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Laurie A. Loreno, Hermitage; two sisters, Mary Bandy, Maryland; and Jane Bartholomew, Atlantic, Crawford County; four brothers, John Ball and his wife Betty; and George Ball, all Atlantic; and William and Ralph Ball, both Virginia; a granddaughter, Kayla Amico; and a son-in-law, Joseph Amico, both Glen Allen, Va.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Amico.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 2320 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.
