Samuel Dominic Sabino

Sharon Steel retiree was decorated Korean War vet

---- — Samuel Dominic Sabino, Sharon, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Tuesday (5-4-10) in his residence after an extended illness. He was 81.

Mr. Sabino was born Jan. 24, 1929, in Sharon, a son of Dominic and Josephine Buccino Sabino.

A lifelong area resident, he attended Brookfield schools.

A decorated veteran of the Army, Mr. Sabino served during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954 with the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.

Samuel was employed for 44 years at the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant, where he had worked in several capacities and retired as an electrician.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon.

His wife, the former Betty Diefenderfer, whom he married July 10, 1954, survives at home.

He also leaves his two daughters, Debbie Teague and her husband Mark; and Lisa Siege, all Sharpsville; his son, Marc Sabino and his wife Becky, Farrell; and four grandchildren, Richard and Elizabeth Teague; and Carly and Tommy Siege.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Louis, Neal, Ralph, Daniel, Anthony and Joseph Sabino; and his six sisters, an infant, Raffaela Sabino; and Rose Massaro, Mary Kemp, Jennie Orsini, Lucille Girodano and Anne Warner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 2320 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.
