William F. ‘Boobie’ Metz

Sharpsville man worked at Eat’n Park, McQuaid’s

---- — William F. "Boobie" Metz of 21 1/2 5th St., Sharpsville, died unexpectedly at 12:22 a.m. Monday (4-26-10) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 44.

Mr. Metz was born Feb. 6, 1966, in Sharon to Thomas and Dorothy Devenney Metz.

He attended West Middlesex schools.

William was employed as a server at Eat’n Park, then worked as a manager for McQuaid’s gas station, both Hermitage.

He enjoyed bingo, cooking and riding his horse. He was a volunteer at the Humane Society and was a NASCAR fan.

Surviving are: his father, Thomas Metz and his wife Roz, Knox, Clarion County; three brothers, Thomas Metz, Sharpsville; Terry Metz, Transfer; and Darin Fair, Sharpsville; four stepsisters and a stepbrother; a cousin, Larry C. Fair and his companion Robinanne Pryor, with whom he lived; and his dog and constant companion, CoCo.

William was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Metz-Fair; and his foster mother, Gloria Moore.

Service: Celebration of life service from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010, in Clark Municipal Building. Friends may sign a guest book at

Burial: Cremation was held. Graveside service at 2 p.m. Thursday (5-6-10) at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, with the Rev. Dr. David Holste, pastor of Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage, officiating.
