Edward C. Fauceglia

Retired painter enjoyed gardening and sports

---- — Private services will be held for Edward C. Fauceglia of Shenango Township. He passed away at 10:47 p.m. Thursday (4-29-10) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, after a period of failing health. He was 84.

Mr. Fauceglia was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Washington, Pa., a son of Pasquale and Anna Manso Fauceglia.

He moved to the area as a child and attended Farrell schools.

Mr. Fauceglia served with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean conflict.

Edward retired in January of 1986 from the Edward J. DeBartolo Corp., Youngstown, where he was employed as a painter for 26 years. He previously owned and operated United Painting and Maintenance Co.

Mr. Fauceglia enjoyed farming and vegetable gardening.

He was a sports enthusiast and a fan of the Green Bay Packers for many years and later, the Pittsburgh Steelers. He followed the New York Yankees, West Middlesex Big Reds and sponsored a men’s softball team (United Painting) in West Middlesex during the 1970s.

Ed was a member of the Italian Home and the Slovak Club, both Farrell.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Evelyn Miller, whom he married Jan. 18, 1944; two daughters, Sandra O’Blenis and her husband John; and Pamela Edwards and her husband Jack, all Shenango Township; two grandchildren, Jack Edwards Jr. and Edward Edwards; two sisters, Thelma Novak and her husband Mark, California; and Cathryn Ingram, South Carolina; two brothers, Patrick Fauceglia and his wife Dorie, Tennessee; and Theodore Fauceglia and his wife Mary Lynn, Sharpsville; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Fauceglia, Warren, Ohio.

Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a sister, Sophie Zetkus; and a brother, Robert Fauceglia.
