Mary ‘Pauline’ Pastorius Rafferty

East Lack woman was member of Mercer clubs

Mary “Pauline” Pastorius Rafferty, 24 Applewood Lane, East Lackawannock Township, formerly of Hunker, Pa., passed away at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. She was 64.

Mrs. Rafferty was born May 8, 1944, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., to James W. and Helen Hamil Pastorius.

She was a cook and waitress at various locations.

Mrs. Rafferty was a former member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1637, American Legion Post 159 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6345, all Mercer. She was of the Protestant faith.

Her husband, Ronald W. Rafferty Sr., whom she married Dec. 12, 1983, survives at the residence.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Carrie Adams, also at the residence; two sons, Craig Bortz and his wife Tami, Clintonville, Venango County; and Colin Bortz, Cresson, Pa.; a sister, Dolores Jean Moore, Hunker; two brothers, James Pastorius, also Hunker; and Robert Pastorius; and a grandson, Adam.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Curtis Duane Bortz.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday in McCauley Funeral Home.

Interment: Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
