Audrey Patricia ‘Pat’ Friedel

Wisconsin native lived in Grove City

---- — Audrey Patricia “Pat” Billing Black Friedel of Pine Township passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Friday, March 19, 2010, in Orchard Manor, Pine Township. She was 85. Pat endured a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, throughout which she maintained her humor, kindness and giving nature.

Mrs. Friedel was born in Fort Atkinson, Wis., where she lived until 2002, when she moved to Grove City with her son, Tom. She was a daughter of John and Audrey “Billie” Billing Black; and a sister of Joan, wife of Arn Dullere.

She married Wendell “Lindy” Friedel in 1944 in Fort Atkinson.

Pat loved life, laughter and lively conversation. She found much joy in being a mom and spending time with her girlfriends. She had a strong faith in God and a close connection with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Fort Atkinson.

Pat found much personal fulfillment in her work in a governor-appointed position with Women-Reaching-Women, a organization to assist women who experience drug and alcohol problems.

She is survived by: her children, John Friedel, husband of Patty, Cambridge, Wis.; Barb, wife of Bernie Nevoral, Burr Ridge, Ill.; and Tom Friedel, husband of Kathie, Grove City; her grandchildren, Jason and Jaymee Friedel; a nephew, Deke Dullere, husband of Amy; a great-niece, Tracy, wife of Shane Heth; and a great-great-nephew, Max Heth.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother-in-law.

Pat’s family invites you to join them in celebrating her life at a memorial service set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in Orchard Manor.
