Ellery R. Mohney of Masury, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, in his residence. He was 79 years old.
Mr. Mohney was born on March 26, 1931 in New Mine, Pa., to Ellery and Phyllis Beck Mohney.
He attended Liberty Township schools and went on to marry the former Betty J. Sees on Oct. 16, 1952. Together they shared more than 57 years of marriage and their four sons.
Ellery retired in 1987 from the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant, after working more than 32 years in the blast furnace department. He worked for many years for Tony’s Auto Parts, Masury.
Ellery enjoyed playing cards, going for rides and spending time with his family.
Mr. Mohney is survived by: his wife, at home; his sons, Ellery Richard Mohney II, Masury; Daniel Mohney and his wife Patricia; and Timothy Mohney and his wife Karen, all Brookfield; and Russell Mohney and his wife Denise, Sharpsville; his sister, Gloria June and her husband Earl Van Dyke, Girard, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
