Ex-manager of outlet store sold real estate in GC area

---- — Ella Jane Pokrant, a resident since November 2009 of 440 Memorial Ave., formerly of Collegeview Towers, both Grove City, passed to heaven by the salvation of Jesus at 10:08 p.m. Sunday evening (5-2-10) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, after a one-year illness. She was 69.

Mrs. Pokrant was born March 5, 1941, in Uniontown, Pa., to George H. and Mary Belle Glover Allen.

She formerly sold real estate in the Grove City area and was formerly the manager for the Welcome Home Store at Grove City Outlet Mall, Pine Township.

A homemaker, she was a member of Grove City Church of The Nazarene. Ella was grateful for the support of her church throughout her life and during her illness.

She enjoyed trips to the beach with her family and grandchildren, as well as lively conversation of debate with friends and family.

Her husband, Albert H. Pokrant Jr., whom she married May 3, 1963, passed away Nov. 11, 2002.

Surviving are: her sons, Richard W. Pokrant and his wife Tammy; and George A. Pokrant and his wife Terry, all Grove City; and six grandchildren, Bethany, Sarah, Taylor, Jessie, Rockwell and Spencer Pokrant.

Besides her husband, Ella was preceded in death by her parents.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (5-5-10) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday (5-6-10) in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark S. Erskine, pastor of Grove City Church of the Nazarene, officiating.

Interment: Findley Township Cemetery.
