• About 800 Mag Stix magnetic building sets, distributed by Kipp Brothers, because the magnets inside the plastic sticks could fall out and be swallowed by children. Multiple swallowed magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforation or blockage. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received one report of a child who needed surgery to remove magnets and repair intestinal perforations. • About 392,000 Signature Gourmet and Kitchen Gourmet 12-cup coffee makers, manufactured in China and imported by Atico International USA Inc., because an electrical problem can cause the coffee makers to catch fire. The company has received 14 reports of electrical failures, including six reports of coffee makers igniting. • About 200 190 radial brake master cylinders for off-road motorcycles, manufactured in Germany and distributed by Magura USA, because the cylinders can crack and cause the brakes to fail. • About 68,000 Rockingham Deluxe lounge chairs, also sold as Vanderwall folding recliner chairs, imported by Bond Manufacturing Co., because faulty support brackets and weak frames can cause the chairs to collapse or fall backward. The company has received 13 reports of chairs collapsing or falling and eight reports of injuries. For a full refund, return the recliners to the place of purchase. • About 13,000 Soldier Bear brand toy sets, manufactured in China and imported and sold by Army & Air Force Exchange Service, because paint on the surface of the figures contains high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested by young children. No injuries have been reported. The recall includes various styles of the following toys: H.E.R.O.E.S. Dino Mega Cruiser, Dinosaur Adventure Set, Wild Animal Adventure Set and H.E.R.O.E.S. • About 2,000 cinnamon spice candles, imported by Vance Kitira International and manufactured in Thailand, because there are no instructions on the candle warning consumers to remove the cinnamon sticks and trim the wick before lighting the candle. The cinnamon sticks can ignite, posing a fire hazard. There has been one report of a cinnamon stick causing a small fire contained to the candle and no reports of injuries. • About 9,000 Ol’ Man tree stands, manufactured in China and imported and distributed by TSR Inc., because the locking pins can come out and put a person in the stand at risk of falling. The company has received five reports of pins coming out of tree stands, including four reports of injuries. • About 270,000 clogs for toddlersmanufactured in China by Payless ShoeSource Inc., because the plastic rivets attaching the strap to the shoe can detach and pose a choking hazard. ä About 4,400 Xenon aluminum flashlights, distributed by Sportsman’s Warehouse and manufactured in China, because the batteries packaged with the flashlights have been determined by Panasonic to be counterfeit. The counterfeit batteries, labeled as “Panasonic CR123A Industrial Lithium,” can overheat and rupture, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers. Sportsman’s Warehouse has received two reports of batteries and flashlights overheating and igniting, resulting in one reported injury of burns to the hands. • About 55,000 combination tire inflator and hand pumps, imported by Innovations in Cycling Inc., doing business as Genuine Innovations, because the device can shatter under pressure when inflating tires if there is a blockage in the tire valve. Innovations in Cycling Inc. has received 12 reports of combination tire inflator and hand pumps exploding, including six reported injuries such as lacerations, temporary ringing in ear and bruising. The recalled product, manufactured in the United States and Taiwan, includes the Genuine Innovations Second Wind MTB model with part numbers 2525, 2525-O or 3519 and the Wrench Force Two Shot model with part numbers 84995 or 80383 combination tire inflator and hand pumps. • About 220 Sleeping Beauty crown and Cinderella star earring sets, manufactured in China by Uncas Manufacturing Co., because the recalled metal earring sets contain high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested by young children. • About 1 million battery packs used to power drills, saws, radios, flashlights, wrenches and Extractor windshield glass removers, manufactured by Milwaukee Electric Tool Co., because damage to a vent while the pack is in use could cause the battery to explode. The company has received 35 reports of incidents, including 11 injuries from battery packs exploding while in use. The recall includes 14.4- and 18-volt 2.4 Ah NiCd Milwaukee Power Plus, Chicago Pneumatic and Extractor battery packs manufactured between July 1999 and February 2004.
