LETTERS: Remark makes some in city sound like snobs

Christine Martuccio

Sharon

Debora Madura’s front-page quote in The Herald pertaining to a proposed housing development in Hermitage was quite disturbing.

With a sigh of relief, I am writing this letter in the splendidly free country of the United States of America. It is a country still full of rights and opportunities for all people regardless of gender, color, religious beliefs, or income.

I believe that as proud and free people, whether low income or not, we have the right to reside just about anywhere, even in Hermitage!

It’s comforting to know that a person like Ms. Madura is not in charge of the world — where all low-income people would be banished so as not to taint her privileged life.
