Man gets probation for exposing himself
FREDONIA — A 20-year-old Fredonia man pleaded guilty to open lewdness Monday and was sentenced to a year of probation with credit for 135 days spent in jail.
William Leonard Shultz III, of 521 Delaware Road, Apartment 15, urinated outside and turned to face a girl while exposed in July. The girl told police he was “in her face but he did not touch her.”
A charge of indecent exposure was dropped in exchange for the plea before Common Pleas Judge Christopher J. St. John.
Police said Shultz told them he was playing with two young people and his pants fell down by accident. He said he exposed himself as a “joke” three or four times in all.
Intimidation charges vs. Splitstone dropped
GREENVILLE — A Sharon man who previously had charges dropped in the alleged slashing of a South Pymatuning Township woman also had charges dropped last week for intimidating her at a preliminary hearing in May.
Charges of intimidating witnesses, disorderly conduct and harassment filed against Erik James Splitstone, 24, formerly of 225 Jefferson Ave., were dropped Jan. 6, according to court documents.
Splitstone is serving a four-year prison sentence in Ohio for the savage attack and robbery of a Trumbull County man where he and two accomplices robbed, beat, stabbed, and cut the face of a Howland man.
Splitstone denied slashing Erin Biser, then 23, and passed a polygraph examination. During his preliminary hearing on the slashing case May 29 last year, Splitstone told Biser and another witness they would “get what’s coming to them,” police said.
