PennDOT has set road resurfacing, restoration and patching projects on nearly 44 miles of road in Mercer County that will be paid for with federal stimulus money.

The following projects are set to be advertised for bid this week:

• Restoring and resurfacing Route 62 from Route 19 to Airport Road, Coolspring Township; Route 19 from the southern boundary of Sheakleyville north to the Deer Creek Township-Crawford County line; Route 58 in Greene Township from Jamestown to the Ohio line; Fairview Road in Fairview Township from Fredonia to Route 19; and Carlton Road in French Creek Township from Route 173 to New Lebanon Road. The estimated project cost is $3.2 million for the 13.25 miles of road.

• Resurfacing Route 18 from Route 358 in Greenville north to Hempfield Township; and Route 358 in Perry and New Vernon townships from Route 19 to Interstate 79. The estimated cost is $1,652,000 for 4.65 miles of road.

• Resurfacing Keel Ridge Road in Hermitage, a project estimated at $1 million for six miles of road.

In mid-June, PennDOT plans to advertise for bids to restore Route 62 from Airport Road, Coolspring Township to Route 965, Jackson Township. Officials estimate it will cost $3 million to pave the 5-mile section.

The final project on the books is to repair concrete and asphalt on all 15 miles of Interstate 80. The estimated project cost is $1.8 million, and bids will be accepted in July.
