A Pine Township man died Thursday after he was hit by a car Wednesday afternoon in Westerville, Ohio.
Todd J. Baker, 46, was struck at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday on North Otterbein Avenue near Farthing Drive, The Columbus Dispatch reported.
Baker’s fiancee Emily Destefani of Westerville said he was out for his afternoon walk when he was hit by a car. The couple were to be married July 11.
“He loved his family, he loved me and he loved being a father,” Ms. Destefani said. “He was most at home, to me, singing with the barbershoppers.”
Ms. Destefani said that Baker worked at General Electric Corp. in Grove City.
Baker was flown after the accident to Ohio State University Medical Center, where he died from his injuries Thursday night, Westerville police told the newspaper.
A juvenile was driving the car that hit Baker and police did not release his name or age, The Columbus Dispatch said. As of Thursday the boy had not been charged, according to the paper.
Ms. Stefani said services for Baker will be Wednesday and the funeral is set for Thursday.
