GROVE CITY — A 19-year-old Harrisville woman is accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy in a Grove City home between February and May, police said.

Councilman’s contact ban with family lifted

JAMESTOWN — A Jamestown councilman facing charges he left his two young children unattended July 20 while he sneaked into the home of his estranged wife was again permitted contact with his family on Monday, District Judge William L. Fagley ruled.
Chad A. Randall, 37, of 307 Shenango St., admitted to police he sneaked into his wife Joyce Christine Randall’s Luberty Street home at about 3:35 a.m. in a failed attempt to find the man he believed was having an affair with his wife, they said.
Fagley continued to Nov. 13 Randall’s preliminary hearing on charges of burglary, child endangerment and two counts of harassment and ordered him to contact Mercer County Behavioral Health Commission by Aug. 14 for a mental health evaluation.
Fagley allowed Randall contact with his children and wife, but warned him to stay clear of the criminal kind.
“If you see a problem arising, the best advice I can give you is walk away from it,” Fagley said.
Randall began serving on council in January 2004 and was elected in November to another term that runs through 2011. Council meets at 7 p.m. today in the borough building.
Sharon man accused of stealing medications, pipe

SHARON — A Sharon man faces charges for allegedly stealing a man’s pain-medication patch and copper pipe from an empty house, police said.
Dennis R. Weber, 26, of 87 S. Irvine Ave., was charged in two cases with burglary, two counts of trespassing, two counts of theft, criminal mischief, criminal conspiracy to commit theft and robbery, according to court documents.
Police were called at 1:49 p.m. Saturday to a home on South Irvine, where a “mentally handicapped and terminally ill” man said Weber had removed his pain-management patch from his body.
When police were leaving the man’s home, they noticed the door at the house next door at 89 S. Irvine was not secure, police said.
They found Weber hiding in the attic and he admitted to previously stealing copper pipe from the house, which is owned by a Mansfield, Ohio, man.

GROVE CITY — A Grove City-area man seriously injured when his motorcycle crashed into a car that had turned in front of his bike at 4 p.m. Aug. 1 in Vernon Township, Crawford County, is no longer a patient at Meadville Medical Center.
Steven B. Krofcheck, 36, was discharged Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman said Monday.
The car, driven by Francis R. Smith, 58, of Conneaut Lake, was turning left into a parking lot along Route 6, and Smith did not see the motorcycle, police said. Smith was cited for a left-turn violation.
Krofcheck was not wearing a helmet, police said.
