An armed man Wednesday night robbed a South Pymatuning Township convenience store, police said.
At 9:30 p.m. a man entered Petro Plus, 3270 Saranac Drive, approached the counter and asked for cigarettes, police said.
He paid for the cigarettes and then pulled out a black handgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money from the register, police said. The robber took an undetermined amount of cash and fled the store, police said.
The robber was described as a black male with a medium complexion, about 6-feet tall and about 200 pounds with a bald head. At the time of the robbery he was wearing dark clothes and brown sunglasses.
It’s unclear if this incident is related to four armed robberies that occurred overnight Sunday in the Shenango Valley.
Sunday night and Monday stores in Farrell and Sharon were robbed, as was a pizza delivery man in Hermitage. Someone also tried to rob a Brookfield store, but the owner pulled a gun on the robber.
Anyone with information about Wednesday’s robbery is asked to contact South Pymatuning Township police through the Mercer County 911 non-emergency number at 724-662-6110.
