HERMITAGE

A Hermitage man who pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography after a computer repairman found the porn on his hard drive was sentenced Monday to probation and barred from using a computer or the Internet.

Guy M. Grossetti, 37, of 326 N. Buhl Farm Drive, pleaded guilty Sept. 14 to possessing child pornography.

During a Jan. 27 interview, police said Grossetti admitted downloading 30 to 50 porn video files after he became bored with regular porn and wanted to find “different stuff.”

There were 40 pornographic files on Grossetti’s computer with images of sexual activity, rape, and girls apparently exposing themselves at gunpoint, police said. Grossetti said he would never carry out those kinds of acts and said the scenes were labeled as staged.

Defense attorney Randall Hetrick said Monday that in many cases, pornography popped up as Grossetti surfed the Internet.

Grossetti said he lost his job as a store manager because of the charges and is on unemployment. He said he was seeking a disability claim because a long history of gout and sleep apnea has made him ill-suited for anything except office jobs, which are in short supply. He agreed, therefore, that didn’t need a computer or the Internet for work.

St. John said Grossetti will serve probation for two years, register as a Megan’s Law sex offender for 10 years, and may not live in a home with a computer or Internet access.
