Three arrested in drug bust
SHARPSVILLE – Three people were arrested in a drug bust last week in a house said to have a high volume of traffic, police said.
As a result of an investigation by police, a search warrant was served at 10:13 a.m. Dec. 7 at 240 1/2 W. High St. where two men and a juvenile were arrested on drug charges, police said.
A juvenile and Karron J. Obispo-Alberty, 19, both of the address, were charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
Dersean Jobarri-Lawrence Alberty-Brown, of the same address, incurred the same charges plus a charge of intent to deliver, police said.
Police found small amounts of marijuana loose on table tops and in plastic bags and blunt ends. Paraphernalia found included scales, a bowl, grinder, a hooka tub, among other evidence, police said.
A woman Tanisha Langley,who rents the home, was not charged, police said.
Alberty-Brown said he buys marijuana from random people on the streets in Sharon and Farrell and does not know their names, police said.
Alberty-Brown was released on $50,000 bond.
Money stolen from poker game
SHARPSVILLE – A poker game at a house in the sub-100 block of West Ridge Avenue was robbed of almost $2,000.
Robin R. Jacoway, 32, of 1536 French St., Hermitage, was charged with robbery and theft after he grabbed a bag of money from the homeowner and fled to a running car, police said.
The incident happened at 2:25 a.m. Nov. 26 when Jacoway and the owner, who had the bank bag in his pocket, stepped outside to smoke, police said.
Jacoway told police he did it because he was owed money from a previous game, police said.
