Canoe found capsized in Shenango near The Lube

SHARON — Authorities are looking for the owner of a yellow aluminum canoe that was found capsized Tuesday morning in the Shenango River in downtown Sharon.

Sharon firefighters fished it out of the river near Quaker Steak and Lube, Chief Terry Whalen said.

Police Chief Mike Menster said there've been no missing person reports and that emergency personnel in areas that cover parts of the river have been alerted.

Anyone who may have information about who owns the canoe, which is stadard sized and painted yellow, can contact Sharon police or firefighters at 724-983-3210.
