A Sharon woman was arrested for posting a sexually explicit photograph of her husband online, police said.
Linda Subasic, 48, of 118 Fifth Ave., Sharon, displayed an obscene photo on her Facebook page that her husband had sent to her electronically, police said.
Sharpsville Police Chief Keith Falasco said hopes the arrest will “serve as a deterrent for others who try to post photos like this.”
He also hopes it will make people think twice before sending lewd pictures of themselves electronically, whether over the Internet or by cell phone.
The man filed a complaint Aug. 11 against his now-estranged wife, police said. Subasic was living with her husband at a Sharpsville address and has since moved to Sharon.
Police found that the picture was available to all her friends and many lewd comments were made, as well as farewells to her loyal audience, as she knew what she did was wrong, police said.
Subasic admitted to police that she posted the picture to get back at her husband for something hurtful she claimed he had done to her, police said.
Police could not find the pictures online and discovered that Facebook took the pictures and information off their site. However, the victim handed over the evidence of the crime that he had saved on his computer, police said.
Subasic was charged with displaying obsence materials, selling obscene or sexual materials, harassment and disorderly conduct.
A preliminary hearing will be set in Judge Dennis Songer’s district court in Sharon.
