Police seeking driveby shooter

FARRELL — Police are looking for a man who shot a 19-year-old in the hand during a driveby shooting in Farrell early Wednesday afternoon.

Southwest Mercer County Regional Police Sgt. William Hite said the victim, who is still hospitalized, told police he was shot in the 1100 block of Negley Street at about 1 p.m.

The victim called police from 513 Pennsylvania Ave., police said.

Police said they believe the shots came from a black Chevrolet Impala.

Farrell Area schools were locked down for about an hour as a precaution during the incident.
