Hartford women charged with thefts from Walmart
HERMITAGE – Two Hartford women have been charged with a series of thefts and fraudulent returns that occurred at Walmart, 1275 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage police said.
Rosalia Hakin, 53, has been charged with two counts of theft and one count of attempted theft and Catlin R. O’Neil, 25, who lives with Hakin, has been charged with two counts each of summary retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft and one count of misdemeanor retail theft.
O’Neil stole makeup at 4 p.m. Jan. 8, 11:12 a.m. Jan. 21 and 4:15 p.m. Jan. 22, police said. She tried to return the makeup after the Jan. 8 theft, but was denied because she previously had issued a rubber check, police said.
She turned the items over to Hakin, who successfully returned the stolen items for gift cards Jan. 8 and 21, police said. She was turned down Jan. 22 because of the Jan. 21 return, police said.
Walmart sustained a loss of $307, police said.
Police find drugs, guns during search of house
FARRELL – Mercer County Drug Task Force agents searched a Farrell man’s home Tuesday and seized 4.3 grams of cocaine, two handguns, $3,000, a scale and a large amount of packaging material, Southwest Mercer County Regional police said.
Mercer County Critical Incident Response Team was enlisted for the search of 253 Hamilton Ave., the home of Leroy Montague III, 44.
Montague was arrested at 6:13 a.m. at home on charges of possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned by District Judge Dennis M. Songer, Sharon, and taken to jail after failing to post $150,000 bond. Montague faces a preliminary hearing at 10:15 a.m. Feb. 13 before District Judge Ronald E. Antos, Farrell.
