Burns was seen putting two bottles of pills in his pocket May 9 while he worked at Kmart, 2235 E. State St., Hermitage police said.
He turned over bottles of hydrocodone, a narcotic painkiller, and Alprazolam, a generic form of the anti-anxiety medication Xanax, and admitted stealing thousands of pills since his internship began in November, police said.
