FARRELL – A former Farrell man has been sent to state prison for having cocaine in his home when it was raided by drug agents in March 2011.
Edward W. Patterson, 40, pleaded guilty in March to a charge of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced Patterson May 2 to 1è to 7 years in prison with credit for 241 days.
Patterson was arrested in September in Ohio and returned to Pennsylvania after being a wanted man since charges were filed in May 2011.
Mercer County Drug Task Force said they used an informant to buy heroin three times in February and March 2011 from Patterson and his wife, Barbara.
Police said they searched their then-home at 1211 French St. in Farrell on March 4, 2011, and found 48 bags of heroin, about 1.3 ounces of cocaine, a digital scale, a box of bags, $965 and two cell phones.
Mrs. Patterson pleaded guilty Nov. 14, 2012, to a charge of conspiracy to commit possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and was sentenced Jan. 31, 2013, to 5 years’ probation.
