West Middlesex hit by rash of garage, car thefts

WEST MIDDLESEX — Southwest Mercer County Regional police said they are investigating a rash of thefts from vehicles, garages and a home in West Middlesex, all reported Monday.

About a dozen addresses were affected and eight cars were entered, police said.

Reports were taken from the sub-100 blocks of Haywood, Garfield, South and School streets and the 3000 and 3100 blocks of Main Street, police said.

A laptop computer, cigarettes, and cash were stolen from the vehicles, most of which were not locked, police said.

While several garages were entered, nothing was reported stolen, police said.

Jewelry and cash were stolen from a home in the sub-100 block of Haywood, police said. It has not been determined how the home was entered.

Police said footprints in the snow were found through yards, around garages and near a wooded area at the rear of homes on Haywood and Main streets, police said.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call police at 724-983-2720.
