Pymatuning free - so far - of invasive species

ESPYVILLE — Pymatuning Lake is - so far - far free from invasive species like the dreaded Asian carp and the hope is to keep the lake free from "aquatic hitchhikers,' said Joel Brown, president of Pymatuning Lake Association.

Key to doing that is boaters and anglers using "common sense" when loading and unloading their boats and fishing equipment, according to a news release from the organization. Cleaning and disposing of bait properly is most important.

Brown and Sara N. Grisz, coastal outreach specialist of the Pennsylvania Sea Grant, will be spreading the message Saturday to participants and the general public at the associationÕs annual crappie tournament at the Pymatuning Lake Association Pavilion at the Espyville Boat Launch.
