FARRELL — A Farrell man has been charged with performing sex acts in front of a webcam for girls while viewing them as they did the same, police said.

Dennis E. Schwartz Jr., 30, of 518 Emerson Ave., Farrell, has been charged with three counts each of sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors for conduct that occurred between June 2010 and December.

Southwest Mercer County Regional police said the investigation began in November 2011, when they received a harassment by communication complaint from Joshua, Texas. The complaint said Schwartz had threatened a boy in an e-mail and over the telephone, police said. The boy was said to be dating a girl whom Schwartz also was in a relationship with, police said.

The girl verified she had a relationship with Schwartz that might have been inappropriate, police said.

Police in Gladewater, Texas, interviewed the girl and her mother, and the girl said she met Schwartz on a teen website and they contacted each other through various social media sites, police said.

The girl said she exchanged nude photographs with Schwartz, police said.

Schwartz acknowledged an inappropriate relationship with the girl , knowing she was younger than 18, viewing the girl nude via webcam and performing a sex act via webcam, police said.

A second victim in Altoona admitted to sex acts with Schwartz over the internet and via webcam, police said.

Police said they obtained a search warrant and seized a computer, telephones and digital media belonging to Schwartz. A forensic examination of the seized items showed he had sexually explicit conversations and performed interactive video sex acts with girls, police said.

Schwartz identified seven youth younger than 18 that he had inappropriate relationships with, including the Altoona girl, police said.

“I’m guilty of it all,” Schwartz told police.

Schwartz has posted bond and faces a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. March 21 before District Judge Ronald E. Antos, Farrell.
