LACKAWANNOCK TOWNSHIP —
A second man has been charged with participating in the theft of two dirt bikes in May 2012 from Lackawannock Township.
Darin J. Sagenich, 20, of 1410 Robertson Road, Hermitage, has been charged by state police with theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and unauthorized use of the dirt bikes.
David A. Porterfield, 19, of 683 Fisher Hill St., Sharon, previously was charged with the same offenses.
The victim, a resident of the sub-100 block of Buzard Drive, reported May 16 that the dirt bikes had been stolen earlier that day or the day before, police said.
The victim said Porterfield might have been involved, and police interviewed him. Porterfield admitted driving his fatherÕs sport-utility vehicle with three buddies to near the victimÕs home, where two of them stole the bikes, police said.
The bikes were taken to a home in the 300 block of Buckeye Drive, South Pymatuning Township, where they were kept for about two weeks, police said.
Porterfield said he was told to get the bikes off the property, and he dumped one off on Buckeye and the other in the Shenango River in Hermitage, police said.
The bikes have not been recovered.
Sagenich, who has posted bond, waived all charges to court at a recent preliminary hearing before District Judge Lorinda L. Hinch, Mercer.
