SHENANGO VALLEY — Southwest Mercer County Regional police have charged a South Pymatuning Township man with two more burglaries.

Steven T. Mortland, 24 of 3028 Valley View Road, told police he and Tracy L. Hassel broke into a home Aug. 29 in the sub-100 block of  Bedford Road, West Middlesex, and stole two televisions, a computer, $200, a lock box, medication and jewelry, police said. They sold the TVs and computer on the street for drug money, and Hassel sold the jewelry at a pawn shop, police said.

Mortland also revealed that he and Hassel broke into a home Aug. 18 in the sub-100 block of Metz Road, Shenango Township, and stole a TV, a rifle and a shotgun, selling them all for drug money, police said.

Mortland is charged with burglary, theft, criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit burglary in each case. Hassel has not been charged.

Mortland and Hassel both are incarcerated.

Mortland was charged earlier in the month with burglarizing a home in the 3300 block of Hubbard-West Middlesex Road, Shenango Township and stealing a TV, which was sold for drug money. Mortland said Hassel was with him, but she has not been charged.

They both are charged with burglarizing homes Aug. 26 in the 4800 block of Hogback Road, Hermitage, and Sept. 9 in the 100 block of Jackson Road, Shenango Township.

They also face retail theft charges in Hermitage.

Hassel, 32, formerly of Hermitage, was sentenced Sept. 16 to 5è to 15 years in prison for 11 incidents, mostly burglaries, in Sharon, Hermitage and Shenango and Lackawannock townships.
