FARRELL — A Farrell man has been arrested for entering a house uninvited, groping a woman and offering another woman money for sex.

Jeffrey L. Oatis, 51, of 612 Wallis Ave., was arrested Monday on charges of criminal trespass and indecent assault.

Southwest Mercer County Regional police said Oatis entered a home at 10 a.m. Aug. 26 in the 500 block of Emerson Avenue, Farrell, and fondled the breasts of an elderly woman, police said.

He then went upstairs, accosted another woman and offered her money for sex, police said.

The second woman said she had seen the man do work in the neighborhood but did not know his name, police said.

A day later, she saw Oatis cutting hedges up the road and called police, police said.

Oatis admitted entering the home without permission after no one answered his knocks, police said. He also admitted indecent contact with the elderly woman and offering the second woman money for sex, police said.

Oatis was arraigned by District Judge Ronald E. Antos, Farrell, and released after posting bond. His preliminary hearing was set for 9:30 a.m. Oct. 22.
