Three people were charged after a fight broke out early Saturday morning outside a downtown Sharon hookah club.
Sharon Police Chief Mike Menster said “a large group of people” was fighting in a parking lot near Aromatherapy Hookah Bar/Night Club, 42 E. State St.
“It took quite a while to clear the downtown area,” Menster said.
He said about 50 people, many of whom had been patrons of the hookah club, were involved in the fight, which started inside the club.
“It was a large group of people,” Menster said, and police used pepper spray and electronic shocking devices to control the crowd.
Allen P. Everson, 22, and Caquanna N. Phillips, 22, both of 275 Sterling Ave., and Troy T. Phillips Jr., 23, of 927 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, were charged with riot, failure to disperse and resisting arrest.
They were taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $200,000 bond each.
A 21-year-old Sharon man was cited for disorderly conduct, Menster said.
The downtown club has been open a couple months and keeps late-night hours. It wasn’t clear who owns or operates it.
