On Saturday, February 21, 2009 Youngstown's Kelly Pavlik defended his middleweight title against Mexico's Marco Antonio Rubio in front of his hometown fans at the Chevrolet Centre. Pavlik won by technical knockout when his challenger did not answer the bell for the start of the tenth round.
