Slideshow: 2009 Super Kids Soap Box Derby

As Dillon Hamilton raced down East State Street in a soap box derby car, he looked over at his grandmother with a broad smile.

“Yeah, Dillon,” his grandmother, who identified herself only as Mrs. Sulek, called out.

“He smiled all the way down,” she said as his car crossed the finish line.

Thirty-seven kids were all smiles Saturday, June 27 for the second Greater Pennsylvania Super Kids Soap Box Derby for special needs children in Sharon.

Noah Spaulding of Greenville won Saturday’s race, and will compete July 25 in the All American Soap Box Derby, Akron, Ohio, the championship of derby races featuring drivers from throughout the world.
