Betty Lou O’Hare

Sharpsville 1st Baptist member loved music

- — Betty Lou O’Hare of Hermitage went home to the Lord at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, in her residence. She was 90.

Betty was born March 2, 1923, in Sharon to Frank Orhn and Flossie May Hofius Morford. She was raised by John and Etta Locke.

Betty was married to Robert O’Hare, who passed away May 7, 2010; they were married for 67 years.

She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Sharpsville, where she was very active and was a member of the choir. She loved the Bible, and was a Bible school teacher.

She enjoyed playing the piano and singing; she loved music.

Betty left a legacy of great love for people, and all were welcome in her home.

Surviving are: three daughters, Colleen Tyree, Youngstown; Lorraine and her husband Raymond Kush, Lockport, N.Y.; and Suzanne and her husband Richard Jelley, Burghill; a son, Thomas E. O’Hare and his wife Danielle, Hermitage; six grandsons, Robert Vannoy, Aaron and his wife Caren Kush, Timothy and his wife Sara Kush, Daniel Kush, Joshua Jelley and Sean O’Hare; five granddaughters, Rebecca and her husband Vincent DiLoreto, Elizabeth Meadows, Brandy Freeman, Ashley Jelley, and Sara O’Hare; 18 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Frank Orhn Morford; her mother, Flossie May Morford; her guardians, John and Etta Locke. Betty was the last of her siblings.

Burial: West Side Cemetery, South Pymatuning Township.
