Angeline E. Marro

Homemaker was active member of St. Bart’s

- — Angeline E. Marro, who lived all her life in Sharpsville and was truly a handmaiden of the Lord, went to join our Lord in Heaven at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 98.

Mrs. Marro was born Jan. 16, 1915, in Sharpsville to James and Rose Mancini Jordan.

She graduated from Sharpsville High School.

Angeline was a homemaker and worked for several years at the former Tastee Bakery, Sharon.

On June 26, 1937, she married John Marro in St. Bartholomew’s Church in Sharpsville; he passed away on June 6, 1979.

A lifelong member of St. Bartholomew’s Church, Angeline was very involved. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and St. Oliva Society, helped prepare meals for funeral and wedding dinners and tended to the altar cloths for many years. Angeline relished helping the church in any way she could.

She enjoyed bingo, crafts and traveling to Atlantic City, N.J., and Las Vegas. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family above all.

Angeline is survived by: a daughter, Angela “Dolly” Masson, Sharpsville; grandson, John Stanton, Alexandria, Va.; two granddaughters, Lori and her husband Don Gloeckner, Oxford, Ohio; and Kristy Lynn and her husband Chase Wartenbe, Columbus, Ohio; a great-granddaughter, Molly Gloeckner, and a great-grandson, Sam Gloeckner, both Oxford; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Besides her husband, John Marro, she was preceded in death by her father, James Jordan; mother, Rose Jordan; daughter, Rosemarie Drobney; sisters, Katherine Rossi, Connie Zambelli, Mary Stabile, Thersa DeSantis and Laura Perrine; and brothers, William Jordan and Anthony Jordan.

Service: Family Mass at noon Saturday in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Sharpsville, with the Rev. Matthew J. Strickenberger, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
