Packard Electric retiree loved boating on Lake Erie


- — A funeral service will be held Monday for Carol Wanchisn Kraynak of Masury. After years of struggling with rheumatoid arthritis, she passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. She was 67.

Mrs. Kraynak was born Feb. 18, 1946, in Cleveland, a daughter of Peter and Helen Thur Wanchisn.

Carol was a 1964 graduate of Brookfield High School and was a Packard Electric retiree.

Many will know and remember Carol for her many artistic talents and for her love of boating on Lake Erie.

She is survived by: her mother, Helen, Masury; her brother, James Wanchisn and his wife Sallie, Richmond, Va.; and five children, Lori and her husband Dan Scheidegger, Burghill; Ron J. Kraynak and his wife Carla, Seattle; Tammy and her husband Tom Byerly, Alexandria, Ind.; Kendra Englebaugh, Kinsman; and Bill VanHoose, Columbus, Ohio.

She is also survived by: seven beloved grandchildren, Cortney, Desiree, Brittany, Courtney, Trey, Kari and Adam; several great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Kraynak was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Ronald.

As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

Service: Funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday (1-13-14) in the funeral home with the Rev. David Mastroberte, pastor of St. John’s Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, Hermitage, officiating.

Interment: Next to her husband at West View Cemetery, Vernon Township, Trumbull County.
