— Kevin Carter Gills of Springfield Township, Volant, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at his residence. He was 15.

Kevin was born June 20, 1998, in Grove City to Kevin Edward Gills and Amy Suzanne Johnston Gills.

He was a student of Pennsylvania Cyber School and had previously attended school in Mercer Area School District. He loved being with his little brother, Logan; spending time with his family fishing and camping in Tionesta, Pa.; being with friends, listening to music, playing computer games like Xbox, riding his bike, being outdoors and spending time with his dogs and cats.

He was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include his mother, Amy S. Johnston, Volant; his father, Kevin E. Gills, Mercer; a brother, Logan Donald Gills, also Mercer; his maternal grandmother, Roxann Johnston, Volant; maternal grandfather, Carter Johnston and his wife Beverly, Sharpsville; paternal grandmother, Jane Gills, Mercer; three aunts, Ruth and Erik Wagg, Greeley, Colo.; Wendy and John Hilson, Meadville; and Tina and Brad Sterner, Mercer; six cousins and two great-cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Gills.
