Funeral services will be Thursday for Ricky D. Barnett, of Hermitage, who died Friday (9-7-12) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 56.
Mr. Barnett was born July 25, 1956 in Sharon to Ozell and Bobbie Cozart Barnett. He was a 1975 graduate of Sharon High School and later graduated from the New Castle School of Trades where he received a degree in welding.
He was employed as a laborer at Sharon Steel Corp.’s former Farrell plant and also as a welder with a company in New Castle.
He was a former member of the Ruth AME Zion Church and currently a member of New Life Convenant Church, both in Sharon.
Mr. Barnett enjoyed fishing and cooking. His warm and caring spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sisters, Rev. Patricia (James W. Tatum) and Barbara Barnett, both of Farrell; his brothers, James (Mercedes) Barnett, of Sharon; Ivory (Diane) Barnett of Hermitage; Greg Barnett of Meadville; David Barnett, of Wheatland; his companion, Shirley Scott of New Castle and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Service: 11 a.m. to noon Thursday (9-13-12) at Ruth AME Zion Church in Sharon, where Rev. Patricia Tatum will deliver the eulogy and Rev. Geraldine Williams will officiate. Friends will also be received at the home of Rev. Tatum at 406 Hamilton Ave., Farrell.
