Marion attended Sharon School District until his freshman year in high school and graduated from West Middlesex High School in 1979, where he was active in football, baseball and basketball.
Upon graduation, he worked at the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant for three years before entering the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a sergeant with the U.S. Air Force police for 10 years.
With tours of duty in Italy, Saudi Arabia and locations stateside, Marion proudly served his country during Operation Desert Storm 1991. He was also an Air Force Honor Guard.
Marion retired from the military in 1992 and settled in Merced, Calif., where he was employed for 13 years as head of security with E&J Gallo Wineries in Modesto.

In his leisure time, Marion would enjoy a front row seat at his children’s numerous sporting events. He inherited his father’s penchant for “fixin’ stuff” and would regularly be seen doing just that on his days off. He was an avid cook and made a “mean” rack of ribs. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
