Mae Adams

Lackawannock Township woman was homemaker


- — Mae Bobbert Adams of 7266 W. Market St., Lackawannock Township, died at 1 a.m. Friday (12-20-13) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 92.

Mrs. Adams was born March 30, 1921, in Lawsonham, Pa., in Armstrong County. She was a daughter of Miles “Mike” and Monta Springer Bobbert.

A graduate of Sligo High School, she married Ernest Delton “Murf” Adams on July 10, 1937. He died Dec. 16, 1979.

Mrs. Adams was a Protestant by faith.

She was a homemaker and a member of AARP, a retired persons organization; and a former member of the New Wilmington Brunch Bunch.

She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Opp and her husband Jerry, Bluff City, Tenn.; her son, Paul K. Adams and his wife Candace, Mercer; and five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wendell Bobbert.

Calling hours: 3 to 5 p.m. today (12-22-13) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1778 Perry Highway, Village of Leesburg, Springfield Township.

Service: Funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday (12-24-13) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Audrey Bell, pastor of White Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial: Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County.
