- — Betty L. Shollenberger, formerly of Clark, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, in John XXIII Home in Hermitage. She was 84.

She was born Aug. 26, 1929, to Charles and Alice Kennedy Newton in what is now Clark.

She graduated from Sharon High School and beauty school. Betty worked as a hairdresser for Angela’s Beauty Salon for 40 years until her retirement.

On July 12, 1952, she married Carl Shollenberger, who passed away Jan. 13, 1988.

She was a member of Clark Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Betty was active in various church activities and loved cooking and baking.

Betty is survived by: two nieces, Karen and her husband Bill Merchant of Greenville, and Christine and her husband Mike Bodnar, Hermitage; and a sister, Alice E. Beil of Hermitage.
