Thomas ‘Tom’ Joseph Perman

Notre Dame member operated Sharon Paving

- — Mr. Perman was born Jan. 24, 1948, in Sharon to Walter and Betty Senay Perman.

As a child, Tom enjoyed spending time with his parents and siblings, and fishing with his brother, Bill, at Buhl Park. As he grew, he enjoyed working for his family’s business, Sharon Paving and Construction Co.

He graduated from Hickory High School, class of 1965.

On March 18, 1967, he married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Lee Sisic.

He continued his education at the University of Akron in business administration.

Tom worked at Timkem Roller Bearing, Ohio, shortly after graduation. He eventually returned to the valley to work in his family’s business and in 1983, became president of Sharon Paving and Construction Co. where he remained instrumental in growing the business throughout the next 25 years.

Tom treasured his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and watching his four children partake in sports and the arts. He supported education in many forms.

He took pride in sharing his family’s traditions, hosting gatherings, celebrating the holidays, his faith and cycling.

He was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, for more than 40 years and was leader with his wife of a prayer group at the church.

He was a Jaycees and Lion Club member for many years.

He is survived by: his father-in-law, Milo Sisic; four children, Thomas Everett Perman and his wife Anita, Pulaski; Rachelle Perman Shea and her husband Bill, Sharpsville; Drew Perman and his wife Staci, Hermitage; and Amy Perman Javens and her husband Chad, Hermitage; a brother, Bill Perman and his wife Irene; a sister, Cathy Perman Andrade and her husband Jose; 13 grandchildren, Ashley Perman, Caitlin Shea, Tina Shea, William Shea, Russell Shea, Ryan Shea, Cecilia Perman, Cynthia Lauren Perman, Milla Perman, Drew Michael Thomas Perman, Delaney Javens, Devin Javens and Dannah Javens; a sister-in-law, Holly Jean Sisic, Hermitage; and a brother-in-law, Milo “Mitzi” Sisic and his wife Kelly, Hermitage.

Besides his wife, Cynthia Sisic Perman, he was preceded in death by his mother and father, Walter and Betty Perman; and mother-in-law, Mildred Sisic.

He was lovingly cared for by many special caregivers, especially Regina King, whom his family felt blessed to have in Tom’s life.
