He was born in New Castle, on July 26, 1950, to John Charles Dickey and Jennie Marie McCurdy.
He graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1969.
He retired from Mercer Lime Co.’s Branchton plant in Slippery rock, as a kiln operator in 2009.
He had been a member of Ducks Unlimited.
He enjoyed bowling, hunting, golfing, NASCAR and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.
Survivors include a son, Jerome D. Metheney of Grove City; four grandchildren, Noah, Hannah, Payton and Nathan Metheney, all of Grove City; five brothers, including his identical twin brother Dennis “Danger”, James and fiancée Kim Allison, Fred and wife Connie, Mark and wife Debby, Robert “Mouse” and wife Beth all of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Ruth and husband Jim Keith of Harmony and Evelyn Vargo of New Castle; two aunts, Helen and Lois McCurdy; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
