Holy Trinity member worked at G.C. Murphy


YOUNGSTOWN — Mildred M. Arendas of Coitsville, Ohio, passed away at 12:01 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, with her family by her side. She was 89.

Mrs. Arendas was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Farrell, a daughter of Michael and Mary Vagasky Bandzak.

She was a 1942 graduate of Farrell High School.

She had worked in the cosmetic department at former G.C. Murphy Co. stores in Farrell and Sharon.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage, and the Lutheran Brotherhood.

Her husband, John Arendas, whom she married Sept. 22, 1951, passed away March 13, 1980.

She will be sadly missed by her son, Chuck Arendas and his wife Debbie, Lowellville, Ohio; and her granddaughter, Dr. Charlene Arendas.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Johnny Bandzak, Mikey Bandzak, Andrew Banjak, Mike Banjak and John Bandzak; and sisters, Anna Dzurinda, Emma Rust, Mary Kuchmak, Pauline Bandzak and an infant, Eva Bandzak.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday (1-12-14) in STEWART-KYLE FUNERAL HOME, 407 W. Liberty St., Hubbard; and 10 a.m. to time of service Monday (1-13-14) in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage. Family and friends are invited to visit the funeral home website at to share memories and condolences.
