— Emily Irene Turner Ebert, of Wolf Creek Township, passed away at her home early Saturday (1-11-14) following a battle with cancer. She was 72.
Emily was born Sept. 5, 1941, in Wolf Creek Township, the youngest child of Norman B. and M. Lucille Roxberry Turner.
She graduated from Grove City High School in 1959 and had the honor of participating in state chorus.
She married Carl L. Ebert on Aug. 4, 1962, and they were married for 51 years. They made their home in the North Hills section of Pittsburgh and retired to their home in Grove City.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Emily loved being a homemaker and enjoyed singing, gardening and cooking for family and friends. She will be remembered by many for her wonderful kindness and generosity.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister, Norma Lucille “Sal” Eakin.
She is survived by her husband, at home; four children, Sandra Ohler and her husband Mike, of Polk, and their children, Matthew, Jason and his wife, Ellie, Bethany and Erin; Rita Shillito and her husband Todd, of Grove City, and their children Ted and Melody; Carol Petrichevich and her husband Rob, of Pittsburgh, and their children Hannah and Sarah; and David Ebert and his wife Jenni, of Delaware, Ohio, and their children Olivia, Charlotte and Nolan
Also surviving are two sisters, Esta “Ruth” Van Dyke and Ester “Lillie” Rath and her husband Delmar; a brother, Norman E. Turner and his wife Virginia and their family; and a brother-in-law, Richard Eakin and his family.
